My WordPress Journey

Hello and welcome!  For my very first blog post, I thought I would share my business journey with you!  While there have been many ups and downs, as most business owners experience, those ups and downs have led me to where I am today.

The important thing to remember is this.  Do NOT give up!  There will be tears, moments when you just want to throw in the towel, and questions that you will constantly ask yourself.  But, you can do it!

My Blogging Journey

My blog and business journey started around fourteen years ago.  I discovered Pinterest and was fascinated by all the beautiful DIY projects and crafts!  I was a stay-at-home mom at the time and decided I would start refinishing furniture for extra money.

My husband supported me for three years.  We made most of our money from selling our pieces.  It was not until a while later that I stumbled upon a fellow DIYer who blogged about her projects and was able to reach a wider audience.

I had NO idea what a blog was.  I know that sounds crazy, but it’s true.  I set out and took every course I could.  I soaked all the information that I could that pertained to blogging.

WordPress Themes

Since I was new to the blogging scene, I did not have the budget to hire an expensive website designer.  After discussing this with friends who were bloggers that I met along my DIY journey, was when I first discovered WordPress and WordPress Themes.

Of course, I had no idea what WordPress was!  However, after a lot of YouTube videos and research, I decided that I would purchase a WordPress theme for my blog.

I took to Etsy on their advice and ran across Studio Mommy Designs and purchased my first WordPress blog theme.  It cost me around eleven dollars (10 years ago).

I was amazed at how easy it was to customize.  Although back then the themes did not have a lot of detailed customization without being experienced in coding, you were still able to set up the basics needed to run a blog. This one is similar to the one from years ago (affiliate link).

However, they have come a long way today!

After I sold my DIY blog seven years ago, I went through three WordPress themes.  Something about a new WordPress theme kept me motivated and refreshed! I said that to say this.

This website, Christina Woodcock Designs, is a premium WordPress theme.  Installing and customizing different WordPress themes provided me with tons of experience using WordPress.

My Virtual Assistant Business

I decided to create a Virtual Assistant business and apply all my experience to helping others who may be struggling as I did in the beginning.   It was then I decided to use my experience and help other women start their very own blogging business.

I did everything from writing blog posts to assisting bloggers with the WordPress platform.  For my VA website, I purchased another theme and designed the entire site myself.

A few months ago, I missed DIYing so much!  My husband and I decided to start back slowly, part-time, refinishing and repurposing furniture.

I purchased my second blog theme from Studio Mommy, the Every Morning blog theme.  You can take a look at the website at  I designed the blog myself using the blog theme that I purchased.

While creating my DIY website, I had a “lightbulb” moment!  It brought me so much joy designing and installing WordPress themes for myself, I could surely help others with their WordPress blog design!  I love experimenting with different color schemes and fonts!

My AHA Moment!

Sometimes it’s that one AHA moment that makes you realize what you are truly passionate about!  And my AHA moment was during my last WordPress design.

I have created several since niche down my business.  My husband and I decided to start our DIY blog/business back on the first of the year, so I designed a WordPress website to get us started again.

My absolute passion is seeing others bring their blog life and share it with the world.  But I also remember being a beginner and not having a clue and I am thrilled that I can help them achieve their dream!

If you are ready to make your dream a reality, take that first step.  Trust me, I know it’s hard, especially if you know nothing about websites or blogs.  But I will be with you every step of the way!

My Services

Not only do I design WordPress blogs, but I also teach bloggers how to use the WordPress platform. It can be intimidating at first, and I remember how much help I wish I would have had.

I can also teach you how to write a blog post and publish it if you have no experience with blog post writing. My experience also includes optimizing blogs for SEO (Search Engine Optimization).

If you are on the fence about starting your blog, take that FIRST step!  I promise you, you will not regret it.  It’s not as scary as it may seem.  And once you get your blog in place, you can share your creativity with the world!

Thank you so much for supporting me!  I look forward to supporting you and seeing what amazing things you will do!
